Unlike some other similar programmes in Malaysia which stretches for 4 years, this particular programme is only 3 years in duration. Students therefore can have an early start in their professional careers. Studio is the central plank of the programme. It is during studio sessions that the students undertake major assignments in groups lasting for several weeks each time. These assignments bring expose them to real-life projects in order to enhance their practical skills. Controlled intake of students to manageable size allows for more intensive lecturer-student engagement and better interactive teaching delivery. Entry to the degree programme is stringent. Aside from academic excellence, applicants have to undergo pre-entry interviews. Dedicated group of lecturers in the Quantity Surveying Programme that has a combined strength in both industrial and research experiences. Hence the students are exposed to up-to-date industry practices and state-of-the-art research outputs. The lecturers give special attention to development of soft skills such as verbal communication, critical thinking, teamwork and self-reliance through student-organised product talks, group work, oral presentations, reflection sessions and technical visits. The aim to produce employable graduates who can confidently take their place in Malaysia and abroad. Accreditation by three local and international bodies provides the passport to work in Malaysia as well as outside of Malaysia. |
